Session Musicians and Vocalists:
As active performing and recording musicians, Monique and Michael work regularly with Vancouver’s best session musicians and vocalists. Let Creber Music put together the people you need for your recording project!
Michael Creber is a renowned session musician (acoustic piano, organ, accordion and a wide variety of keyboards) who is proficient in many styles of music – pop, rock, jazz, blues, country, folk and classical. Equally at home sight-reading or playing parts by ear, Michael’s exceptional work can be heard on television (e.g The Chris Isaak Show, Beggars & Choosers, The Eds), in films (e.g. The War For Baby Jessica, Song From the Heart) and jingles (e.g. McDonald’s, Toyo Tires, Killian’s Irish Red) and on many CDs, including albums by k.d. lang, Raffi, The Rankin Sisters, The Irish Rovers, Powder Blues, Shari Ulrich, Roy Forbes, Connie Kaldor, Lisa Brokop, Charlotte Diamond and Trooper.
“…a cross between Floyd Cramer and Thelonius Monk.”
(The LA Times, reviewing Michael’s work on k.d. lang’s album
Absolute Torch and Twang)

Monique Creber is an experienced and versatile session vocalist with a 3 _-octave range who has recorded on a wide variety of projects ranging from jingles, T.V. themes and PSAs to sporting events, karaoke tracks and numerous CDs. Equally proficient at sight-reading or learning parts by ear, Monique works in several genres - pop, jazz, rock, folk, country, musical theatre, classical - and can sing convincingly in a variety of languages besides English, including French, Portuguese, Slovenian and Spanish. Recent recording projects include a jingle for Mark’s Work Wearhouse, a theme song for The Canadian Cancer Society’s Relay For Life, a compilation CD for The Magic of Christmas concert series, tracks for the Calgary Stampede Grandstand Show and the theme song for a TV animation series entitled Flakes. Though she can achieve many different vocal qualities and sounds, Monique’s voice is most often likened to that of the late great Karen Carpenter.
“I’d love to superimpose two songs sung by you and Karen Carpenter - it’s remarkable how close the resemblance is…It’s not that you copy her style so much as it’s the gift you have in the tone of your voice.” (Rick Cluff - Host of CBC Radio’s The Early Edition)

The Howdy Rowdy Singers provide stellar group vocals, sung by six of Vancouver’s top session vocalists.
Equally comfortable sight reading or learning parts by ear, The Howdy Rowdys can cover even the most complex musical arrangements on the spot. The Howdy Rowdys (Monique Creber, Tania Hancheroff, Saffron Henderson, Steve Maddock, Gord Maxwell and
David Steele) borrowed their name from the title of their first recording project – a feature song for the 2000 Grey Cup Half Time Show, written and produced by Dave Pierce. Since then, among other projects, they have recorded vocal music for the Calgary Stampede Grandstand Show four years running.
The CM Singers is a group comprised of about 50 talented singers ages 3 to 18 who all train in the Creber Music Academy Vocal Performance Program. The CM Singers are available in whatever configuration is necessary to meet specific requirements for group size, age range or vocal style.
This versatile ensemble has substantial experience in a professional studio environment, recording both group vocals and solo parts. In addition to being featured on the nationally distributed Magic of Christmas compilation CD, The CM Singers have recorded backing vocals on albums by such internationally renowned artists as Raffi, Michael Crawford
and Norman Foote.
